Chloroform, also known as trichloromethane, is an organochloride compound with the chemical formula CHCl₃. It is a volatile, colorless, dense liquid widely used as a solvent and chemical intermediate. Chloroform is also used in the production of refrigerants and other chemical products, as well as in specialized industrial and laboratory applications.
